PREMIER DIVISION

Fourteen Premier Division teams are unbeaten in 2020 after the opening weekend of the new decade. Biggleswade United remain third after a convincing 6-0 win at Crawley Green despite having problems from scoring from twelve yards. At the bottom North Greenford United finally moved off the foot of the table albeit on goal difference following a 3-3 draw at Broadfields United, a result that extends NGU’s unbeaten run to four games. Replacing them at the foot are London Colney as the Hertfordshire club were beaten 0-3 at home by Arlesey Town. Struggling Dunstable Town and Wembley suffered away defeats at Leverstock Green (0-1) and Oxhey Jets (1-3) respectively. Elsewhere Baldock Town defeated Potton United 4-2 at home and Eynesbury Rovers were 3-0 winners against visiting Harefield United. New Salamis remain in the final automatic promotion place despite being beaten by the team immediately below them, Rayners Lane, the hosts winning 4-3 in a game that saw both goalkeepers sent off. At the other end of the table second bottom Brimsdown continue to leak goals as they went down 0-7 at Enfield Borough after conceding ten the previous week. Langford picked up a vital point as they look to move away from the relegation trap door after a 1-1 draw at FC Broxbourne Borough. VAR – New Low

The FA Cup tie between Chelsea and Nottingham Forest saw these ridiculous VAR decisions reach a new low. Goal disallowed for offside stands due to the piping on the shoulder of Forest’s Macron manufactured shirt and a couple of lines that are about 8 inches wide.
